I got my braces tightened just yesterday, next to new wires and chains and everything. But now my mouth of late really hurts like crazy. I have the serious discomfort in my upper part of my mouth, specifically the teeth. When will the niggle go away?? Why does it hurt?? How can I make it shift away? Plz help, it hurts so bad I can't devour anything

It hurts because there are chains and wires in your teeth. And not solely that, but they are really tight! But if they weren't tight, then there wouldn't be any principle to wear braces because they wouldn't straighten your teeth! To help the pain, ask your orthodontist if you can use this special gel that you can put on your braces. I have braces when I was 12-14 so I feel your agony! Also ask your orthodontist if you can try using some Orajel. Good Luck and try eating Jello, Ice cream, and Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup until it gets better!!

Unfortunately I have to go through the same piece for the 3 years that I did have my braces. And to answer your questions:
- The headache will lessen in 2-3 days and completely gone by around the 4-5th day.
-It hurts because when they conversion the wires to a heavier one or tighten them, your teeth are slowly being realligned to a new position. And that's why it hurts.
-To lessen the stomach-ache, you can try some painkillers and see if they work. They might not completely take away the pain but it might lessen it and present you some relief. Other options that I find works is mouthwash. The class that really burns your mouth because its so strong. It actually lessens the misery and if afterwards, you're careful to not bite down too hard, the strain would only be a dull throb.
-As for eating, Im' afraid you might own to eat some soft food for a few days that requires minimum chewing. Examples can be: oatmeal, pb&j sandwich, or even porridge. During these few days, you'll just enjoy to get by with those foods.
