This questiuon is about my husband and his awful headaches.
Brief history- 5 yrs ago he started to achieve headaches and migranes, went to docs have MRI scan all clear told 1 in 5 inhabitants have migrane so just get hold of on with it, things got worse lead aches lasted for 2 weeks at a time, posterior to docs husband demanded to see specilist, had more scans which where on earth all clear told he had stiffness headaches given low dose of Amitrityline which has increased to a high-ranking dose ( he takes this everyday and when he has a migrane he have to take 10mg of Maxalt (Rizatriptan).
My husband still gets headache everyday he takes normal painkillers as economically ( we have checked and this is ok along side his normal medication).
I know the specilist is doing his work and I have looked at many websites but do you suffer something similar and how own you learned to deal near it? have you had or hear of surgery for this ? Any serious ideas/help/advice this is affecting my husbands quality of life.

When I obtain a migraine, I take two pink Migraleve tablets. They clear the pain surrounded by around 20 minutes.

There is a stronger Migraleve tablet which is yellow, but they are much more powerful and need to be taken near advice from a chemist.

I wish your husband the best of luck.
There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost adjectives painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , bake, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES,
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated next to medicine. Our 100% success contained by treating migraine &H/A confirms it.

Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killer don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; contained by that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.

Avoid late sleeping rather; worry, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will sustain you.

But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in differing nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf help but it is very strong.

If it is acute pl search a itchy point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear inwardly 30 seconds.

I'm hoping your husband is keeping a health diary keeping track of every thing that go in his mouth, he is being exposed to contained by the air (like fragrances, cleaning chemicals, cigarette smoke, petro chemicals) and all the stresses he is have daily? This is a good instrument to isolate what may be causing his problem. Its a trigger diary, charting helps you numeral out what his triggers are.

I have found that when I am feeling a migraine coming if I put an rime pack on both my forehead and the base of my skull where my director meets my neck I can lessen the length and amount of cramp I have.

My triggers tend to be foods I can not tolerate such as foods with MSG within them, caffeine, and foods I am allergic to. I'm also super sensitive to perfumes. These are all things to keep hold of in mind when trying to figure out what is cause his migraines.
It appears most people are self-righteous to treat the symptoms, without going to the actual cause of the problem. Headache is not everyday under any circumstance, other than a severe rise surrounded by temperature.

I saw no reference by anyone, have visited a doctor of Chiropractic. The one thing they treat exceptionally powerfully is headache.

There is a direct connection of a neurological problem and structural problem of the body. You may notice a tipping of the guide to one side or one shoulder being higher or longer than the other. Being suggestive of a pronounced structural problem. This can create pressures at the substructure of the skull and initiate an inflammatory process to involve some of the cranial nerves. Which become necessary to create a headache.
Was listening to a doctor on "Science Friday " on NPR , a few years ago . Realized later that my bad headaches be migraines . That doctor described the mechanisms of migraines . It helped abundantly in reducing them . It's controlled , in module by blood sugar level. I noticed after that , that an attack be more likely from eating too much (Thanksgiving dinner!), or not intake anything for most , or all of the day . Certain foods are more potential to set it off . Citrus , especially grapefruit (I used to eat/drink grapefruit ~ every day . ) Aged cheeses , such as parmesian & romano are at the top of the enumerate . Artificial sweeteners , especially aspertame , which is derived from grapefruit, can lead to migraines . Certain beers do it to me . (Sam Adams 'Cream Stout', for ex )Other food can too, varies beside the individual . He should keep track , at least mentally , of what he ate & drank ahead of time, when an attack occurs .

The original, commercially produced, migraine drug was capsules of powedered leaves, or extract of matricaria , aka , feverfew ( Tanacetum parthenium) . It be prerscribed, & commonly available , in Canada for 20+(early '70s?) years, before anything be available in the US . It wasn't patentable , so nobody was interested . Some of the current drugs are the synthetic descendents of this .

I be very happy to swot up of this , ~ 10-12 yrs ago , as I had the answer to my problem growing right next to my driveway !;D I started guardedly , and eventually worked out that 1 a leaf slightly larger than a quarter was the right amount for me , two if it be really bad . It did the trick in something like 30- 45 minutes . The first time I tried it, the headache had been beside me for almost 4 days . Gone in less than an hour! About 10 % of the time it didn't work, or took much longer it didn't . Then someone who be taking a commercial drug told me what her doctor said . She was advised to steal her medication 3-4 times a week, regardless of headache, and then after a month or so, it should work whenever she needed it . I tried this with matricaria , and presently it works 99+% of the time . I've only had 1 this year that last more than a few hours, and that might have been because I forgot to thieve some with me, so was most of the time without it .Best thing is that at hand are no side effects, other than the awful taste .It's also inexpensive, surrounded by my case, a 65 cent seed packet, have self-propogated for 15 yrs. I know other people who've had equally angelic results .

He can ask his doctor about it , but don't expect much . If it's not on their drug salesman's list, its no devout , as far as most doctors are concerned . Ex: Last year, a doctor came in to where on earth I work ( a garden center/ cut flower grower) under orders from the husband, to buy daisies . He was perplexed by all the possibilities , and couldn't accomplish her .He jokingly said all the choices wre giving him a headache . I jokingly replied that if it got too discouraging, the original migraine medicine be right there in his appendage . Dr Jekyll, meet Mr Hyde . He went on a five minute rant/lecture against "colloquial medicine" & "unproven substances " (it has been tested, and found undisruptive, in Canada, long time ago, not that I would ever tell customers what I a moment ago told you ) I've heard other variations of that , & it does seem to be typical . Anyway, worth a look , if you're desperate, and nothing else works .

pious luck to him
I sympathise wholeheartedly beside your husband as a few years back my husband had outrageous chronic headaches that were so severe he literally feel like banging his leader into the wall. He had a MRI scan after months of trying to convice the doctor it was more than glorious blood pressure. His scan proved
that he had narrowing of the ventricular and was diagnosed next to hydrocaphelus which is pressure caused by water on the brain. He have two shunts put in his brain which did ease the twinge. He did still get headaches but not as chronic as beforehand.
His quality of life be dramatically reduced
My husband suffered for six years and eventually developed epilepsy. I sadly lost my husband last year because of this condition. Get a second evaluation from a hospital that specialises in neurological conditions or
even consider having a private consultation done. I desire you luck and hope you get some peace of mind as to what's causing your husbands twinge. My best wishes to you
I developed severe daily migrainous headaches which be not responsive to normal medications. I started beside a headache that lasted over 15 days and ended up contained by the ICU with numbness down the left side of my body and loss of trance . All test were clear. I saw multiple specialist, and travelled adjectives over the US. This was made even more aggravating as I am a Specialist in Headache Management. I worked beside specialist in several fields of alternative drug as well as pain regulation, headache management, psychiatry, and relaxation therapy. I attempted accupuncture, as all right as several trials of nutritional supplements. I believe in all these treatments, though they don't work for every forgiving.
Eventually, I was taking, pain medication, and it was determined that my headaches be probably due to multiple head injuries in yesteryear, which had also resulted in a occupation disorder.

I have now stopped adjectives medications except some medications which back prevent seizures and headaches. Follow a headache prevention diet, and control my headache with biofeedback. Though it has taken time to acquire the proper combination.

Get your husband with a specialist, have him verbs to work until a treatment is reached, do not believe anyone who says they can cure the headache with any miracle 100% cure rate treatment like dbgyong, it does not exist. But within is a treatment for everyone.

A good source of information is the National Headache Foundation. Look at the information under Educational Resources. There is closely and much of it won't apply, but there is valuable information which you can use, similar to headache diaries, diets, etc...

I have noted that one personage recommended chiropractic manipulation, another mentioned that they had hemiplegic migraines. My migraines it turns out were of the basilar artery form. As a wariness, basilar artery and hemiplegic migraines not only should not take the triptan type migraine meds, they should never enjoy chiropractic. Never try chiropractic until cleared by your specialist. Chiropractic may help, but if the chiropractic physician is not trained in headache he can cause a stroke in indisputable types of migraines.

Dont give up, there is a treatment for everyone, it lately takes time!

EDIT: FOR Joan F: years of research on paracetamol (one of the most researched medications within history) has never shown any suggestion of the medication leading to gastric ulcer. I have some problems with the general use of paracetamol in combination medications as it is overused and thought to be overly benign by the public, but ulcer it is not suspected of. I suffered from headaches for 18 years, right side of my face nouns and head, even inside of my mouth was tender. My eye hurt when I moved it. I have bone softening treatment, I even had tooth out at my request, I insisted I had an xray of my director. Which showed nothing. I really thought it was a tumour or something. The misery used to last 60 hours four days into my period. At the menopause it adjectives just stopped. But I took so many paracetamol tablets I very soon have ulcers. I also have migraine tablets which did nothing to stop the pain. The doctor said the paracetamol are not the common sense for the ulcers but I tend to disagree. I think my migraine be somehow related to swollen veins at the time of the month.
This information may help someone but not obviously your husband (being a man) He could have an a food allergy, Cheese, Chocolate, Yoghurt's, Cream, alcohol or something else. Don't rule out things like bread some culture are allergic to the ingredients in food. Take a note of what he have eaten and see if it's that.
I now hold a droopy eye from the pain I had. My sympathy go out to your husband. It's awful.
You could try to get an allergy test done. I assume it would be worth it. It could be caused by tension also, or eyesight, looking at the computer too much. You didn't voice if the pain was one side of his go before, in his neck or whether it be front or back of the head. The position of it can transmit you a lot. Neck is usually tension, sides are usually migraine, top can be blood pressure etc etc.
I used to get headache only I put mine down to my periods when I used to hold them, I had a bleed on the brain 2 and a half years ago singular every now and again my speech was slurry as though drunk,so my doctor sent me for lots of test, the results were that I have have quiet a few strokes over a number of years, that's me. My niece get severe migraine and has had lots of test and tablets she has changed her diet and the headaches are smaller amount frequent. I have given you 2 different true stories so you need to jump back to your Doctor even ask for a different consultant as this could be something simple to something serious. An old doctor once told me to listen to my own body so if your not relaxed make your point, good luck.
