Since it is "hot" and "itchy" that seem to be pretty much classic symptoms. Meanwhile keep it elevated do a bit of walking from time to time. But it needs to be see by a doctor. There is medication for this if it turns out to be phlebitis. Do not rub it! If it is a clot you do not want to dislodge it.
