OK, I am a medical assistant that works for a worker's compensation injury facility. The doctor I work with allows the employers to farm out how the patient should be treated and "let's make sure it is not recordable" They call for to let her know that so and so is on their way for an injury and we want to make sure this is not recordable and this is how they need to be handle. This goes on with at lowest 3 large companies that we deal near. I have concern that the patients are not recieving the proper care because of this and am not sure what to do or where on earth to turn. I also feel that if in reality she gets caught one day and I am asked if I "knew" in the order of the activity, it will affect my career as in good health. Can anybody point me in the right direction as far as what I should do, what my rights are, and if I should and who, bring this to someone's attention other then the other individuals I work with who just turn the other cheek....Input is much appreciated.

You will be implicated if something goes down. I suggest starting to find another job very soon.
If he's a member of the American Medical Association, you can report him.

Good luck - you should feel proud that you hold a conscience!
I used to be an OSHA certifed safety manager. I vote outstandingly you listen to the advice provided by BH. If you are aware and something does "go down" you are merely a guilty as the doc. OSHA does conduct random investigations without any faddy cause (extremely rarely, but nonetheless they do), so your anonyminity could be thoroughly well protected. However, if the doc goes down... awesome proposal also from your first answer, you should be prepared to find another place to work. Catch 22... follow your morals/instincts.
I agree 100% near BH, but another alternative is contacting the insurance commision for your state as they would have to oversee Workers Comp. insurance practices. Or even OSHA or state plan administer, the only problem is if the long-suffering doesn't know any better they don't know to ask for better care. Is there a medical review board affiliated next to the clinic? If the Dr. has privligaes at xx hospital you may be able to contact that review board. To inflection what BH said your observations not your emotions.
I am a safety checker so I know for some HSE managers it is a fine line, BUT I was/am an EMT first. I applaud you for knowing that something 'isn't' right and making the first move towards correcting it. I need you the best of luck.

If what you say is true, then you involve to contact your state's Medical Licensing Board or the Attorney General. Your identity will be kept confidential. And they will conduct their own ivestigation. Make sure that you have a good work copy and that you are not identified as a disgruntaled employee, as your complaints will be placed in that context. But if you are a fitting and conscientious employee, then you complaints will receive greater stress.
Addendum: Take a deep breath; let it out slowly. Try to document as much as you can. Start your post search now. Contact the State AG and the MLB and write down a detailed document of your OBSERVATIONS - NOT your complaints. Try to make it as dry and factual as possible. DO NOT read aloud that the doctor embarasses you in front of the patients. DO say that you are writing as a concerned citizen and as a medical member of staff who is concerned that the patients are not getting appropriate medical care and treatment. Then, they will advise you further as to what they will ask and require of you.By doing so, you will also be protected from any repercussions by the whistle-blower law. Source(s): I am an ER doctor. And what you describe is not the conduct of the vast majority of us physicians.
