Answers:
Drink fluids, catch rest, eat well chicken soup as expected, gatorade if dehydrated tylenol or motrin for headache or pain. Sudafed and robitussin if you are not allergic to any medication. takes its course.
Drink lots of fluids, specifically red juice, and get lots of sleep.
eat chicken soop
Get plenty of rest...avoid dairy whenever possible, take tons of vitamins, don't cart a lot of cold medicine merely for symptons you have and read the ingredients..a lot of times cvs brand or wal mart brand is same as signature brand minus name and works better (did a bio test on it once). don't stress purloin a hot shower to steam out any phlem and mucus, and as a last result see a doctor..when you do eat produce sure it's nutritious not junk.
The thing about the adjectives cold (rhinovirus) is that we have no natural imperviousness to its various strains, we simply need to fray each new strain as it comes along. Over-the-counter medicine DO NOT FIGHT your cold, they simply make your symptoms easier to handle while your body does the work. For me, I say-so, this takes too long and is unnecessary. There must be a way to supplement our body's inbred defenses, to aid our body in its fight against this virus.
Recently, to prevent catching colds over and over again from my 350 kids at academy, I started taking large doses of vitamin-C. This is one of those "who knows if this really does anything" sensitive of preventions/cures, but I really think it's helpful. I recommend Emergen-C which comes contained by little packets that you dissolve in dampen - it is jam-packed with vitamins and whatnot to help aid your imperviousness.
Also, I know homeopathic remedies get a lot of flak. But I hold to say - just because the FDA hasn't run a try-out on these drugs doesn't mean they're not effective. A lot of homeopathic remedies come from herb and plants, just as most medicines champion by the FDA (aspirin, for one, which is made from treebark) are also "herbal".
Look for a remedy called "Umcka" made by the company Nature's Way. (Check a nutrition or vitamin shop in the homeopathic section). This is a soft (drops) made of a plant found in South Africa, and I SWEAR it begins working instantly, as soon as you start dosing. My academy nurse recommended it to me and I soon learned that one of my seventh graders - who is NEVER out sick mind you - also swears by the stuff.
I couldn't get rid of an upper respiratory infection (viral, deeply a chest cold) and as soon as I started taking Umcka my cough cleared up and a couple days later I was spotless. Now when I feel the colds creeping, I dose vitamin-C and start taking Umcka. So far I've been cold free! That's not unforced in a school full of kids!
Good luck. Enjoy your trip.
drink deeply of medicene and sleep alot, always stay home whenever you have a cold ,drink lots of soup Source(s): med skool
Sleep, get through citrus fruits, take vitamin C, B vitamins, and zinc.
Megadose on vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant and is known
Food sources (oranges liquid, etc) do not contain enough to significantly boost your immune system. You'd need to use unsweetened or sugar substitute sweetened suppliments. Take roughly 4000-5000mg of vitamin C day after day when you get the first signs of a cold for 3-4 days, then vertebrae off to about 2000mg.
Don't verbs about Vitamin C toxicity - that occurs if you embezzle very large quantity at once (10000mg+). Being water soluable, the body will use what it needs... and you'll urinate out anything isn't required (at that moment). Source(s): http://allergies.about.com/cs/vitaminc/a/blaaaai030703b.htm
