What should I do for the infection I've gotten since my laparscopic surgery?

I had a diagnostic laparoscopy on November 10th (nearly 5 weeks ago). Yesterday evening, after taking a shower I noticed my belly button be really sure and swollen. I cleaned like I do every evening, antibacterial soap, alcohol and a little neosporin. When I be taking a drenched in alcohol q-tip to clean out my belly button, glutinous yellow pus shot out. I squeezed it slightly two more times, and every time, thick wan pus. It hurt all night. This morning I enjoy a 2 inch long 1 1/2 inch wide red patch coming away from my navel that is swollen, red, and fevered. The red patch is also terribly tender to touch. 5 weeks later, the incision is showing no signs of healing.

They call me in some antibiotics, but is there anything else I can do to knock the infection? Should I step have it lanced or drained? Or do you estimate I should just take the antibiotics for the subsequent few days and if it's no better by Friday, give them a call hindmost?

It just scares me because I do NOT treat well at all!
Answers:
Usually the best entry to do is take the antibiotics. From what you explained, it isn't something a home remedy could fix.
