Last week i had a slight strain in my groin muscle..it be enough to end practice for the morning and train lightly on it for a week..then a week subsequent i did the same thing and it injured it again . i be doing Gymnastic Flares.though im a bboy (breakdancer) not a gymnast..but this time the swelling is pretty imense and there is a little brusing..it is not that prickly ..its tollirable but walking is kind of staggered and i can jog near some discomfort...This is my first Groin injury...how severe doese it sound to you ...and besides R.I.C.E what can i do to treat it .and is my goin torn or strained? ...i dont have insurance thats why im asking here and im not going to a doctor....ive torn ankle ligimants and have my ankle swell..but this is my first time having my inner theigh...groin swell and bruise...also i do stretch alot.I stretch more then a middle-of-the-road yoga person.stretching is part of my each day life ima hardcore stretcher and i stretch my groin alot i can almost do side splits...thats why im wondering how i even pulled my groin in the first place.

surprised nobody else have answered this. hmmm. not experienced in groin injuries but do know something about pulled muscles, torn tendons, etc., so will try to sustain. any place that has a muscle can be pulled/strained. any sudden movement that pulls a muscle beyond what it's used to in a express moment can tear little fibers in the muscle involved. it take a long time to heal that, but it will heal as long as it's not stretched & strained beyond its tolerance. that said, you also own to keep it mobile or it will lose ability to stretch as far as it used to. it can be a fine column between exercising it enough & pushing your luck too far. let spasm be the determining factor. do easy relaxed stretches. don't get to point of sudden sharp misery. soreness is ok & to be expected. i suggest no running or jumping til you've gotten used to doing stretches without backache. you may only get "short" stretches at first, later gradually work into farther stretches as it heals. when you can move pretty much resembling you did before, should be ok to do almost anything you want. again, if this is actually a torn muscle, it will steal weeks to heal. a point of interest, the spot where the cleave is will not grow new muscle to replace the "missing" tissue. the area of opening will be replaced with a somewhat tougher material, but it will reconnect the pieces. righteous idea not to tear muscles surrounded by the first place. it heals different than bone. not sure how you were injured. if you suddenly did the splits or one leg go out funny & too far when you weren't expecting it, that could be the injury activity. not likely to transpire spontaneously with no trigger, but stranger things have happen. (i broke a toe once with no injury whatsoever, but then, my bones are brittle anyway.)
