"what happen when you bite into a pill you are supposed to swallow?

i bit into my meds and i wasnt suppost to now my tounge is numb.
Answers:
as long as its not enteric coated or a geltab, you'll be fine...even with the geltabe its ok...just gross
It should be fine, the solely reason that you are asked to swallow it is because you want the medicine to run effect inside your body but it is going to be fine

p.s your tongue is not numb you are just paranoid, so your brain is finding stuff to worry in the region of, its going to be okay. Source(s): I am an ER doctor
Hmmm...these people can't right to be heard your tongue is not numb without knowing what you bit. I know that Tessalon Perles will numb your tongue and mouth if you bite one. There are probably many others.
As others hold said as long as the pill wasn't a time release pill you'll probably be OK. Of couorse, if you didn't swallow it then it doesn't matter. Source(s): 20 years as a pharmacy technician
Unless the medication be a timed release formula, you should be fine. Although I'm curious to know what the pill was since I've not heard of too heaps pills that produce a numbing effect.
certain time release pills like orlaam, morphine sulfate extended release tab can be fatal.you would, however, already be experiencing symptoms of overdose if this were the valise.certain anti depressants, like elavil, will engender the mouth/throat numb, but this is not harmful.
be careful!
