Avoiding mosquito bites should be your first line of defense, but if the little bloodsuckers bite, you'll need even more defense against itching and infection. Follow these precautions after man bitten by a mosquito to minimize the damage they create.

when i be little, my grandma would tell me to put cold water on it, and consequently put a little salt on the bite. i dont know why or how it worked but it stopped the itching, and its unforced.
try putting some stick(not the gel) deodorant on it

also putting something resembling Vick's vapor rub too

believe it or not they both really help
It sounds to me like you have the West Nile Virus.
Mine is a spider bite.

Try calamine lotion or aloe-vera gel.
Try taking benadryll or put on some itching cream. put a band aid over it so you can't scratch it, but if you do, you are just scratching the band aid
